Masks are optional for our guests, please feel free to wear one if that makes you more comfortable! We want everyone to have a great experience at our beautiful Theatre.

Age Admittance Policy:
Ashland Theatre adheres to the MPAA movie rating policy. For films rated “R” by the MPAA: Ashland Theatre will not sell tickets to any person under the age of 17 (18 where applicable).A person must be at least 21 years old in order to purchase multiple tickets without providing additional photo I.D. for additional tickets. The purchaser must also attend the movie for which the additional tickets are purchased. Patrons 17 to 20 years of age may only purchase more than one ticket if they are able to provide photo I.D. for proof of age for each additional ticket being purchased. Children 6 and under are not allowed to attend Rated R features. Ushers may check for photo identification if a guest appears to be underage and is holding a ticket for an “R” rated feature. Ushers may be stationed at the entrance to theatre(s) playing MPAA rated “R” films to check tickets and photo identification for all who enter to prevent minors from improperly entering.Ashland Theatre reserves the right to refuse entrance to anyone that cannot present valid photo identification along with a ticket for the proper show time of the “R” rated film. For films rated “NC17” by the MPAA: No one under the age of 18 is allowed admittance to the feature, regardless of accompaniment or consent. A patron desiring to purchase multiple tickets must provide a valid photo I.D. for each ticket they purchase. Ushers may conduct additional photo I.D. checks for MPAA guideline adherence at the doorman’s post and theatre checks. Theatre Employees may be stationed at the entrance to theatre(s) playing MPAA rated “NC17” films to check tickets and photo identification for all who enter to prevent minors from improperly entering.Ashland Theatre reserves the right to refuse entrance to anyone that cannot present valid photo identification along with a ticket for the proper show time for the “NC17” rated film. Alcoholic beverages: As a licensed seller, Ashland Theatre follows all Virginia ABC protocols and regulations. An ABC Manager is on duty at all times when alcohol is being served. No one under 21 years of age may purchase or consume alcohol on the premises. No outside alcoholic beverages are allowed and all alcoholic beverages need to be consumed or disposed of prior leaving the Theatre.

Attire: Appropriate shirt and shoes are required at all times.Bags: While Ashland Theatre encourages guests not to bring any bags or backpacks, we appreciate that sometimes these items are necessary. We reserve the right to search certain items prior to admission, including backpacks, laptop cases, suitcases, and other large packages. We also reserve the right to prohibit any such items on a case-by-case basis.

Costumes and props: For the safety of our guests and staff, no costumes, masks, face-covering hoods, or face paint is allowed. No props or fake weapons are permitted.

Food and Beverage: No outside food or beverages are allowed.

Guns and weapons: Guests are prohibited from carrying firearms or concealed weapons of any nature on the premises.

Personal devices and cell phones: For the comfort of our guests, please refrain from using personal devices. Please shut off all cell phones, pagers, or other personal communication devices prior to any film.

Personal items: Ashland Theatre is not responsible for lost, stolen, or recovered personal items. Please do not leave belongings unattended at any time and check around your seat for any personal belongings before leaving the auditorium.

Recording devices: No recording devices (cameras, video recorders, sound recorders, etc.) are permitted to be used within Ashland Theatre. Recording of a film is grounds for removal from the premises without refund and a permanent ban from the Theatre.

Smoking: Ashland Theatre is a smoke-free environment. Smoking of any kind, including e-cigarettes, is prohibited within our building and on our premises.

Solicitation: Soliciting or loitering on Ashland Theatre premises is not permitted.

Unattended Children: For the safety of our young patrons, children under twelve years of age are not permitted to be left unattended on the premises.

Wheelchair accessibility: The Ashland Theatre lobby, concessions area, and main auditorium are wheelchair accessible. Marked seats in the loge and main auditorium are wheelchair accessible. A wheelchair lift is available for guest use upon request.
