In keeping with the Ashland Theatre’s mission to “deliver a deeper level of engagement through events that entertain, educate, inspire, and are welcoming to all” we are thrilled to announce the 3rd Annual Ashland Book Festival on May 3 and 4, 2024.

Read Broadly, the book festival theme, features #1 New York Times bestselling author, A. J. Finn, and US Senator Tim Kaine.

A. J. Finn is the #1 New York Times bestselling author of the global phenomenon The Woman in the Window, which was published in more than forty languages and is the basis for the hit film starring Amy Adams. His latest novel is End of Story a spellbinding thriller that fans Knives Out will enjoy.

Regular ticket prices include a signed copy of End of Story. Student tickets are available.

‍Senator Tim Kaine has served people throughout his life as a teacher, civil rights lawyer, and elected official. He is one of only thirty people in American history to be a mayor, governor, and U.S. Senator.  In 2019 Kaine commemorated both his sixtieth birthday and his twenty-fifth year in public office by undertaking a three-part journey across the Virginia landscape as he hiked, cycled, and canoed across the state. His chronicle of the journeybecame an organic reflection of the extraordinary events occurring across America during that time, including impeachment trials, a global pandemic, growing racial protests, the January 6th attack on the Capitol, and more.

The Senator will be joined by Jon Lugbill, Executive Director of Sports Backers.

Adult ticket prices include a signed copy of Walk Ride Paddle. Student tickets are available.

Ashland Theatre is partnering with Fountain Bookstore, a staple of the Richmond region, for this Festival.

Prior Festivals featured bestselling and award-winning authors Zetta Elliott, Adriana Trigiani, David Baldacci, Maggie Haberman, and Jeannette Walls.

“We are delighted to continue the tradition of bringing significant literary voices to engage with audiences at the Ashland Theatre,” said Liz Bryant, president of the board of directors of the Ashland Theatre Foundation.  “Attendees at both nights of our third annual Ashland Book Festival are in for a memorable experience.”

The Ashland BookFestival is open to the press; media RSVPs are required no later than May 2.
